About Hopper

Hopper Youth Centres are the 8 youth accommodation centres of Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen. Each youth centre has its own story, but all of them originated from local or national initiatives by enthusiastic Scouts and Guides. Our story began in 1934 with the purchase of the oldest youth centre, De Kluis in Sint-Joris-Weert, and continued with the creation of a full-fledged youth hostel in Antwerp in 1982.

Our mission

Our mission has always been to provide simple, adventurous and high-quality accommodation for young people travelling in groups, and especially for Scouts and Guides. All of this takes place in a green and natural environment.

What makes Hopper special?

Our youth centres grew out of Scouts and Guides Flanders. Thanks to the successful collaboration between staff and volunteers, a friendly and contemporary atmosphere can be found everywhere. Anyone who would like to contribute is always welcome.

You will find Hopper all across Flanders: in the middle of forests, close to nature reserves, or as a base for exploring a city. Each centre has its own character, but everywhere simplicity, adventure and group experience are at the heart of what we do.
